Healthy Monitoring


If you can measure it you understand and learn then you can change or correct. This is what was told to me when I was a student . If you can understand where you are you can make informed decisions on have to improve your situation . If you feel sluggish , if you are overweight . You get an understanding with information about how much you are overweight by simply weighing yourself. There are many good devices and apps out there so it does not mean regular visits to a doctor . The NHS has a good selection of apps which they have reviewed and deemed safe and trusted.


Initially a visit to your doctor is a good idea to get the basic measurements ,correct weight and advice about how to reduce and control your weight . After this you can take control and responsibility .  If you feel sluggish monitoring your diet can be as easy as writing down what you are eating each day in a journal . You can use this simple strategy to adjust your diet to improve your wellbeing .

                                                                        


For instance Coeliac Disease is well known for causing tiredness this is caused if you have an intolerance for gluten found in bread and cakes and other foods. Many people suffer from this unknowingly if you monitor what you eat then slowly eliminate certain foods you can track down the cause . You then confirm your suspicions with a blood test performed by your doctor. This will save you valuable time and give you peace of mind.


For those who suffer from hypertension  blood pressure monitors will assist and guide you if you have the correct information from your doctor about what you statics should be, you can then monitor and react immediately if there is a change you are concerned about. It will also give you an idea of what situations or foods may cause a rise in your blood pressure.


The good old common  bathroom scales  can not only take you weight but also your BMI , body fat and body water.


It is to be remembered that your lifestyle should also include some type of exercise to help keep your blood pressure under control . A simple regular walk, daily if possible, basic yoga done daily .This can be done in the comfort of your home and is proven to reduce blood pressure .


Please be aware that you are not too obsessive and get panicked about every single change as we can weigh different weights at different times of the day and blood pressure will vary depending on the activities you get up to. Try and make measurements at the same time of day. It does not have to be daily . Unless you have a medical reason to do so.
